With the introduction of Steam integration into its electric Model S and Model X vehicles, thousands of games can now be played.
Although Tesla has made significant investments in the integration of video games into its in-car entertainment system over the past few years, the company still caught many by surprise when it announced earlier this year that it intended to integrate Valve’s Steam, an online video game store and distribution platform, into its vehicles.
The integration of Steam into Tesla’s electric vehicles would significantly expand the number of games that can be played inside of Tesla vehicles.
Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, stated in July that a demonstration of the Steam integration should be available by August. Although it never materialized, Musk reaffirmed his intention to incorporate the video game library into Tesla vehicles.
Today, Tesla sent off Steam Beta for Model S and Model X as a component of its “vacation update”.
This is because the entertainment computer designed for video games is more powerful in Tesla’s two flagship vehicles.
Tesla unveiled the brand-new gaming computer alongside the Model S and Model X.
Through Tesla Arcade, in-car gaming on par with the most recent consoles is possible with processing power of up to 10 teraflops. Using a wireless controller is possible, so you can play from any seat.
To play games, watch movies, and do other things, the system is integrated and connects directly to two touchscreens on the Model S and X.
Musk also said that the new computer has more storage space to handle more games on the platform at once, which will be helpful for managing your Steam library.
