Following the launch of the Mahindra XUV 3XO, which was offered at an extremely competitive price of Rs. 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata Motors is prepared to take it on with the launch of new Nexon SUV entry-level models. New base-spec Smart (O) petrol variant for the well-liked compact SUV is scheduled to arrive at a price of Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
In the meanwhile, two new entry-level models for the diesel-powered Nexon will be available: the Smart+ and Smart+ S, which will retail for Rs. 9.99 lakh and Rs. 10.59 lakh, respectively (all prices, ex-showroom). As a consequence, the ex-showroom pricing of the petrol-guised Smart+ and Smart+ S variants will drop by Rs. 31,000 and Rs. 41,000, to Rs. 8.89 lakh and Rs. 9.39 lakh, respectively.
Six airbags, ESP, LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED taillamps, drive modes, a twin-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, front power windows, and reverse parking sensors are just a few of the features that the new entry-level petrol Nexon will have.
Two powertrain options are available for the Tata Nexon: a 1.5-liter diesel engine and a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine. The latter produces torque of 260 Nm and 113 Bhp, while the former produces 118 Bhp and 170 Nm.
