Before its premiere tomorrow, the Hyundai i20 N Line, with which the Tata Altroz Racer will directly compete, has already begun to arrive at dealerships.
The Altroz Racer made its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo and was later shown as a concept vehicle at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in 2024. This performance-oriented iteration of the normal Altroz luxury hatchback comes with an enhanced engine and upgraded styling. The upcoming model will have 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and be offered in three colour variants, including a stunning dual-tone orange and black design.
The normal model’s design is retained in the alloy wheels. The body is an orange base colour (customer may choose white or grey), with black painted ORVMs, A-, B-, and C-pillars, a roof, shark fin antenna, and an integrated spoiler at the back. There will be two white racing stripes running down the roof and hood.
Before the official pricing release tomorrow, the Tata Altroz Racer has already begun to arrive at dealerships around the nation in its three retail configurations, R1, R2, and R3.
Performance-wise, the Tata Altroz Racer is propelled by a 1.2L turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 170 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 4,000 rpm and 120 PS at 5,500 rpm, which is comparable to the engine found in the Nexon small SUV. A manual gearbox with six speeds is paired with this engine.
With a wheelbase of 2,501 mm, the Altroz Racer measures 3,990 mm in length, 1,755 mm in width, and 1,523 mm in height. It will be priced reasonably and go up against the Hyundai i20 N Line directly. The domestic manufacturer has revised the Altroz lineup, adding new models and removing others, all the while adding new features.
The Tata Altroz Racer, which will replace the current flagship model, will be loaded with goodies. The list of features includes six airbags, a seven-inch TFT instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, voice-activated sunroof, ventilated driver and front passenger seats, a 360-degree camera system, leatherette seats with red and white racing stripes, air conditioning vents at the back, and more.
