Following months of rumours, General Motors finally unveiled the third generation 2024 Chevy Traverse in July 2023. Compared to the previous version, the exterior, interior, and powertrain were all completely redesigned. According to people with direct knowledge of the situation, GM Authority has discovered that The General will shortly start taking orders for the revamped midsize three-row crossover from the Bow Tie brand.
On December 14th, 2023, General Motors will begin taking orders for the 2024 Chevy Traverse. Dealerships can now begin entering their orders by utilising the quick order tool.
It’s important to note that because the 2024 Traverse Limited is already being ordered, this discovery does not affect it; it remains a second-generation vehicle.
Remind yourself that the third-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse is completely new. First up is the updated external design, which incorporates Chevy’s “High Brow” design concept and a truck-inspired front fascia with dual-tier headlamps for a more tough appearance.
Moving inside, the 17.7-inch diagonal colour infotainment touchscreen, which is standard on every trim level, is the focal point of the cabin. The revamped steering wheel, increased interior space, enhanced ergonomics, new colour options, and better materials are all included in the new cockpit.
The Chevy Safety Assist package (RPO code PED), which comes standard on the 2024 Traverse, is noteworthy since it incorporates the following features (relevant RPO codes mentioned in brackets):
- UHY, or automatic emergency braking
- Pedestrian Braking at the Front (UKJ)
- Lane Departure Warning (UHX) Lane Keep Assist with Distance Indicator (UE4)
- Alert for Forward Collision (UEU)
- IntelliBeam (TQ5)
The turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, which generates 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque according to GM, has taken the place of the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine in terms of powertrain characteristics. Shifting is handled by a GM eight-speed automatic gearbox; FWD is standard and AWD is available.
Under the hood, the 2024 Traverse is built on an updated version of the GM C1 platform, which includes the Global B digital architecture among other improvements. Early in 2024, the Michigan-based GM Lansing Delta Township factory will begin production.
