Up to nine new models from luxury automakers, including Mercedes, Audi, BMW, and MINI, will go on sale in India this year.
These will include all-new cars and SUVs as well as improvements to current models.
A generational upgrade for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Maybach EQS SUV, the GLC Coupe, and a makeover for the GLB are among the expected releases.
New variants of the Audi Q6 e-tron, the electric MINI Countryman and Cooper, the BMW 5 Series, and the facelifted Audi Q8 will also be available.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class will arrive in a long-wheelbase format
Compared to the previous model, the redesigned Mercedes-Benz E-Class will measure 15 mm longer, 20 mm wider, and 17 mm longer.
The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder diesel, and 3.0-liter in-line, six-cylinder diesel engines found in the outgoing model are anticipated to be among the available engine options.
This next generation will only be available with a long wheelbase.
Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV coming soon
Mercedes will also debut the “680” version of its all-electric Maybach EQS SUV, which has a 108.4kWh battery, two electric motors that combined produce 950Nm and 658hp, and a range of up to 600km. The estimated prices are ₹4 crore.
Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe, GLB facelift also on the horizon
It is anticipated that the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and the GLC SUV will have similar powertrain choices. The GLC Coupe has a sharper roofline and a lower tailboard than the SUV.
In addition, as part of Mercedes’s 12-car launch makeover, the Mercedes Benz GLB facelift is scheduled for sale.
While the 4MATIC all-wheel drive technology and the gasoline and diesel engines will remain, cosmetic adjustments and infotainment system tweaks are anticipated. Most likely, costs won’t exceed ₹70 lakh.
BMW 5 Series set to launch this festive season
This holiday season in India, the BMW 5 Series is also scheduled to debut. Unlike its electric predecessor, the i5, which has a conventional wheelbase option, this eighth-generation model will only be available with a long wheelbase.
Audi Q6 e-tron to arrive by 2024-end
Audi is getting ready to introduce the Q6 e-tron, the company’s first car to be constructed on the PPE platform. Arriving by year-end, this electric SUV is anticipated to have two-wheel drive and an 83kWh battery pack.
It is anticipated that the Q6 e-tron will cost between ₹70 lakh and ₹80 lakh.
The Audi Q8 facelift, which debuted globally last September and has minor changes and new amenities over the outgoing model, will also soon be available in India.
MINI Countryman and Cooper Electric set for Indian market
After making its worldwide debut in September of last year, the third-generation MINI Countryman is on its way to India.
In other markets, the subcompact SUV will come with an all-electric drivetrain and three petrol engine options. There will be some cosmetic enhancements as well.
In addition, the third quarter will see the release of the new MINI Cooper electric. Constructed on a specialised electric vehicle architecture, the Cooper E and Cooper SE are its two global variations.
It’s unclear if MINI will release both versions in India.
