The Katara Hall at Raffles in Doha, Qatar One of the biggest and most spectacular car brand introductions in Qatar took place in Doha. The unveiling of BYD, the world’s Champion of New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brand, by Mannai, BYD’s proud partner and exclusive distributor in Qatar, was a historic event.
A magnificent show was fittingly held in honour of this historic occasion, which called for the attendance of numerous foreign ambassadors, dignitaries from Qatar, senior officials from BYD and Mannai, the media community, and other distinguished invitees. H E Jassim bin Saif bin Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Minister of Transportation, and H E Cao Xiaolin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Qatar, graced the event.
It’s interesting to note that the event included a breathtaking presentation to introduce BYD as a brand and the new automobile models. It began with a graphic introduction to BYD that emphasised the significance of “green technology” and BYD’s dedication to the cause. It then displayed important details about BYD’s leadership in the EV industry before moving on to an amazing model-by-model reveal sequence. An innovative feature of the performance involved a dialogue-style Q&A session on stage, which involved the audience in learning about the brand and its highlights as well as the differences between electric vehicles and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
With record sales of over 3 million cars globally in 2023—more than any other EV brand—BYD is the world’s largest automaker. And there are no indications that it will slow down. In 2023, the growth rate of its exports was 334%. No other brand in the history of autos is said to have had such rapid growth in such a brief amount of time.
Battery, motor, and electric control are the three key technologies that BYD is credited with mastering for new energy-powered cars. Particular attention was paid to the role played by BYD’s innovative BLADE BATTERY, which has changed the game. It is currently the industry standard for performance, robustness, and safety, and BYD offers an 8-year warranty on them. It has passed the most demanding testing, including the drive-over test, in which a 46-ton truck is driven over it, and the nail penetration test. The event featured five different BYD models: the Plug-in Hybrid EV BYD QIN PLUS DM-i (Sedan), the compact bestseller; the All-Electric, All-Wheel-Drive, All-Terrain BYD SONG PLUS DM-i SUV, which is BYD’s newest model; and the All-Electric, Dual-Motor BYD SEAL (Sedan), the All-Electric BYD ATTO3 (SUV), the largest selling EV globally in its class; and the All-Electric, All-Electric BYD HAN (Sedan), BYD’s flagship model. The choice made by Mannai to collaborate with BYD is significant at this point. Qatar, a country that has already transitioned to electric public transport, is prepared for the widespread adoption of BYD’s breakthrough passenger electric vehicles (EVs). Previously, electric vehicles (EVs) were considered a novelty or high-end purchase; however, BYD has successfully surmounted this obstacle, bringing the EV dream closer to reality.
Mannai’s daring move embodies the company’s values and discriminating approach, which include working with companies that value sustainability and technological innovation in addition to quality and dependability.
Because it feels that this cooperation was built on shared ideals, Mannai is optimistic about it. values that prioritise the needs and interests of the clients. When combined, they will undoubtedly improve Qatar’s “green” standing internationally. After all, BYD stands for “BUILD YOUR DREAMS.”
