The Mahindra XUV.e8 electric SUV is anticipated to emerge by the end of this year or in the first quarter of 2025, and it will share many features with the XUV700.
Mahindra is working hard to build the electric vehicle lineup for the Indian market, including the BE and XUV.e models. Originally scheduled for release in December 2024, the XUV.e8 may debut later this year or in early 2025. Test versions of the XUV.e8 have been seen several times, providing hints about its layout and internal functions. A few of these components were also just granted patents.
The company just unveiled the XUV 3XO, which is just the XUV 300 with a facelift and a new name. The five-door Thar, maybe dubbed the Thar Armada, is scheduled to debut in August. The Mahindra XUV.e8 will compete directly with the Tata Harrier EV, which is slated for release in early 2025, as well as the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti Suzuki eVX, its Toyota sibling, and the Citroen Basalt EV.
The corporation appears to be busy fine-tuning the vehicle in advance of its market introduction, based on the multiple test sightings. Since it will resemble the ICE XUV700 in many ways, this model is anticipated to pique the curiosity of Indian enthusiasts for electric vehicles, particularly those in the upper end of the midsize segment.
Almost two years ago, the Mahindra XUV.e8 concept was unveiled in the UK. According to recent spy photos, the production vehicle will keep a few concept-specific design cues, most notably in the front fascia. With a closed grille, a continuous LED light strip, and vertical LED headlamps on the bumper, Mahindra’s contemporary EV design is clearly visible.
In addition, a tailboard and LED tail lamps like to those on the XUV700 will be part of the rear design. With a digital instrument cluster, a front passenger screen, and a central touchscreen for infotainment, the interior will have a triple-screen layout. In addition, a redesigned two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with a possible illuminated emblem and a number of connectivity capabilities will be included.
The INGLO skateboard architecture will make its debut in the Mahindra XUV.e8. Considering their partnership, Volkswagen might be the source of its e-motors. Anticipated to include an 80 kWh battery pack, it may have a stated range of more than 450 kilometres when fully charged. This EV will have a spacious cabin thanks to its specifications, which include a wheelbase of 2,762 mm and a length of 4,740 mm.
