Launched in Q3 2024, Changan’s Deepal S05 SUV

The Chinese government has granted the Deepal S05 a sales licence. There will be EV and EREV versions of the new vehicle, internally coded C857. The third quarter is anticipated to see the official launch. Changan owns the Deepal brand of electric vehicles.

Deepal is now selling the S7 and SL03. Delivery of the G318 off-road SUV will start in June. Furthermore, according to Chinese media DongCheDi, Deepal may rename and replace the SL03 and S7, giving the SUV the S series and the sedan the L series.

The Deepal S05 has a standard seating capacity of five persons and dimensions of 4620/1900/1600 mm with a 2880 mm wheelbase. The Deepal S05 has a shorter body length and wheelbase than the Deepal S7 (4750/1930/1625 mm, with a 2900 mm wheelbase). The new automobile has a rounded design overall. Split LED headlights and a closed face are featured on the front.

Deepal delivered 12,744 cars in April, a 0.02% decline from the previous month. Deepal had only supplied 52,828 cars in total in the first four months of 2024, or roughly 19% of its 280,000 vehicle annual sales forecast.
