In honour of Texas, the country’s largest truck market, Jeep has unveiled a new Gladiator model. The Gladiator Texas Trail, which is based on the Sport S trim level, is distinguished by its large mud-terrain tyres, body-colored roof, and external decals with Texas-inspired designs.
If the name seems familiar, it’s probably because Jeep offered a Texas Trail option for the 2021 model year, so this isn’t the first Gladiator with a Texas motif. The special edition vehicle for 2024 comes with steel rock rails, a body-colored hard top, wheel arch flares, and 17-inch black-painted wheels shod in 32-inch mud-terrain tyres. Additionally, Jeep placed edition-specific graphics to the hood and tailboard that celebrate the Republic of Texas’ founding and Texans’ declaration of independence from Mexico in 1836.
Black, Bright White, Granite Crystal, Hydro Blue, Firecracker Red, High Velocity, and Anvil are the seven colours available to buyers. Additionally, the Texas Trail has the same cosmetic enhancements as the standard model for 2024, including a new grille with seven slots.
Although Jeep hasn’t provided any interior images, it does mention that the Texas Trail boasts heated door mirrors, front seats, and a steering wheel in addition to black leather upholstery because Texas may get cold at times. The infotainment system has a 12.3-inch touchscreen as well.
The reliable 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, producing 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, provides the power. It unlocks a 7,700-pound towing capability and spins the rear or all four wheels using a two-speed transfer case and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The Gladiator Texas Trail is exclusive to Texas and costs $49,985 base price plus $1,895 destination fee. For context, the 2021 Texas Trail cost $41,930 including a $1,495 destination charge, and the 2024 Sport S starts at $43,290. In May, sales will begin.
