Hyundai i20 N Line will be Tata Altroz Racer’s main rival. It is the performance-oriented variant of the ordinary Altroz premium hatchback.
Media outlets have received invitations from Tata Motors regarding the Altroz Racer’s unveiling. After making its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo, the Altroz Racer was shown as a concept earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024.
It is the performance-oriented variant of the standard Altroz premium hatchback, including an upgraded engine and improved styling. The future hatch’s dual-tone orange and black colour scheme was hinted at in the media invitation along with a picture of 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels; however, the ideas on display had different wheels.
The regular model and the alloy wheel design are both comparable. The body is mostly painted orange, with black accents added to the wing mirrors, pillars, roof, shark fin antenna, and integrated rear spoiler. Additionally, it will have two white racing stripes on the roof and hood, and the interior will have a granite black motif that is emphasised by orange accent pieces and Racer emblems.
Performance-wise, the Tata Altroz Racer has a 1.2L turbo three-cylinder petrol engine that, like the Nexon small SUV, can produce up to 120 PS of power at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 4,000 rpm.
They’ll have to wait and see if an automatic version is available, but it will come standard with a manual gearbox. With dimensions of 3,990 mm in length, 1,755 mm in width, 1,523 mm in height, and a 2,501 mm wheelbase, the Altroz Racer will go up against the Hyundai i20 N Line head-to-head.
The list of features includes six airbags, a heads-up display, a 360-degree camera system, voice-activated electric sunroof, projector LED headlamps and LED DRLs, leatherette seats with contrast red and white racing stripes, rear AC vents, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
