India Will See The Launch Of 2 Upcoming Full-Size SUVs This Year

This year will see the introduction of two full-size SUVs: the MG Gloster facelift and the Nissan X-Trail.

Full-size SUVs are renowned for their powerful performance, roomy cabins, and cutting-edge technology. Examples of these vehicles include the tough Toyota Fortuner and the opulent Mercedes-Benz GLS. In the Indian car market, these SUVs are exceptional options for both urban commuting and off-road excursions.

1. Nissan X-Trail

Test drives of the fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail SUV, which is scheduled to go on sale in June or July 2024, have been seen in India. LED headlamps, a modified front bumper, and a V-motion grille are all standard on the front of the X-Trail. The SUV has new alloy wheels on the sides. Regarding the interior, the Nissan X-Trail has an ADAS, ventilated seats, an integrated Google system with a five-year subscription plan, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen system.

The 1.5-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine under the hood of the X-Trail is expected to provide 201 horsepower and 305 Nm of torque. A CVT unit will be linked to the engine. The X-Trail SUV will have competition in the Indian market from vehicles like the Skoda Kushaq when it launches.

2. MG Gloster facelift

Some important data about the MG Gloster facelift were recently made public when the test mule was spotted driving through India. The SUV’s external features include integrated LED DRLs, split headlights with a square form, and a three-slat grille with the MG emblem. Along with wider alloy wheels, newly designed LED tail lamps, an exhaust pipe at the back and an LED light bar across the back, the 2024 MG Gloster also has these features.

A huge touchscreen infotainment display, an all-digital instrument dashboard, a 360-degree surround camera, heated and ventilated front seats, and a wireless charger are among the interior features of the MG Gloster facelift. The SUV will include a panoramic sunroof and Level-2 ADAS.

Fundamentally, it is anticipated that the 2.0-liter diesel engine used in the present MG Gloster will not be changed. The 4WD variant generates 215 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque, whilst the 2WD variant only manages 160 horsepower and 375 Nm of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is linked to both engines. An additional Rs 1 lakh is anticipated to be spent on the MG Gloster facelift compared to the current model.
