Launch of the Creta EV in India: Hyundai has formally declared that the Creta EV would make its market debut in India in January 2025. He said that the business is incorporating learnings from the sales of its loniq 5 EV into this new model. By the end of 2024, Hyundai Creta EV production is expected to start.
The forthcoming Hyundai Creta EV is now undergoing rigorous testing, both domestically and abroad. It is one of three noteworthy future mid-size electric SUVs that are expected to rival the Tata Curvv EV. The Hyundai factory in Chennai will construct the Creta EV, most likely using the same assembly line as the Creta sedan.
Hyundai Creta EV – Battery
It is expected that the Kona Electric entry-level model sold in foreign markets will use the same electric powertrain as the Creta EV. This engine is anticipated to be fueled by a 45kWh battery pack and generate approximately 138 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque. Compared to the MG ZS EV (50.3kWh) and the future Maruti eVX (48-60kWh), this battery is smaller. Like the Kona EV, the Creta EV is probably going to include a charging port on the front of the vehicle.
Hyundai Creta EV: Features & Design
In terms of appearance, the Creta EV will feature an aerodynamically tuned alloy wheel set, a closed-off grille, and slightly modified front and rear bumpers. Inside, the centre console will be revamped, and the steering wheel will be distinctive. Like the Kona Electric and Liniq 5, the drive selector will be situated on the steering column.
Hyundai intends to introduce a mass-market compact EV in 2026, following the release of the Creta EV. Although specifics regarding this second electric vehicle are currently unknown, Garg underlined that the Creta EV will succeed by learning from the loniq and Kona Electric.
