Grogu and the Mandalorian are setting out on a brand-new journey to the movies.
The Mandalorian & Grogu, which will be produced by Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Jon Favreau, will begin filming in 2024.
According to Favreau, “I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created.” “It’s very exciting to think about bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen.”
Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, continued, “Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have brought two new and beloved characters to Star Wars, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen.”
The Mandalorian & Grogu will head Lucasfilm’s current slate of feature-length projects, which also includes projects directed by Dave Filoni, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and others. Dave Filoni is presently working on Ahsoka Season 2.
