In the latter part of April 2024, the much awaited Force Gurkha 5-door is set to make its formal appearance. Dealer sources now claim that prices for this more sensible off-road vehicle may be disclosed before the end of this month, or shortly after the reveal.
The 5-door Gurkha is supposed to keep the spirit of the legendary off-road vehicle while adding two more doors and a row of seats, according to a number of teasers and leaked photos of test mules. Yes, a bench seat was located in the middle of the third row of seats in some of the test mules that were being watched. The longer Gurkha promises to be more practical, with more interior space for passengers and luggage capacity even when the third row is not in use.
According to the information available thus far, the 5-door Gurkha will indeed have its recognisable round headlamps with LED projectors and DRLs, in addition to LED taillamps. The majority of the test mules and teasers show off the new Gurkha SUV, which will come equipped with a snorkel and roof rack. Force hinted that it will have a big TFT screen on a semi-digital driver’s display, along with a new infotainment system. It’s anticipated that some of these feature enhancements will also be available on the 2024 Gurkha 3-door.
The 2.6-liter diesel engine powering the Force Gurkha 5-door is anticipated to be the same as the Gurkha’s current model, but with improved performance. It will probably only be available with a manual gearbox.
They anticipate that the upgraded and longer Force Gurkha will fetch a higher price than the current 3-door model, which starts at Rs 15.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It will be a more substantial substitute for vehicles like the Maruti Jimny, but it will also be a tougher option than the incoming Mahindra Thar 5-door.
