New York’s Empire State Building was lit up in blue with a gesture of goodwill to stamp what might have been John Lennon’s 80th birthday celebration.
The late Beatles legend’s child, Sean Ono Lennon, authoritatively turned on the lights at dusk out of appreciation for his late dad – who was shot dead external his home at The Dakota working in New York City in 1980.
New York was an uncommon spot for the Liverpool-conceived performer and it was the place he recorded and composed a significant number of his independent collections, including 1973’s ‘Psyche Games’ and 1975’s Rock ‘n’ Roll’, just as his coordinated efforts with his better half, Yoko Ono, for example, ‘At some point In New York City’.

Following Lennon’s demise, a commemoration named after The Beatles melody ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ was opened in the city’s reality well known Central Park.
In the development to Lennon’s birthday, those nearest to him have been sharing their recollections of the music legend.
Sean, 45, conceded he battles to tune in to the music his dad composed on the grounds that it makes him excessively enthusiastic and helps him to remember the prior minutes he was killed.
He stated: “I sincerely stress over crying since I think once in a while when I talk about specific melodies that father composed, they’re simply so passionate.
“They are difficult for me to try and consider, not to mention hear some out of them, particularly the later stuff since I have countless numbers recollections of them making ‘Twofold Fantasy’ and a portion of that stuff just makes me extremely upset since it resembles a time machine, it takes me directly back to those prior minutes (John Lennon was killed), really intense.”
Then, Sir Paul McCartney, 78, talked about first gathering “teddy kid” Lennon in Liverpool, and how the pair “supplemented one another”.
The ‘Let It Be’ hitmaker said of his late bandmate: “I think back on it presently like a fan, how fortunate was I to meet this unusual teddy kid off the transport, who played music as I did and we get together and kid, we supplemented one another!”
