Fans of “Wizards of Waverly Place” should celebrate because Alex and Justin Russo, the magical siblings, will be appearing on television again in the pilot for the forthcoming “Wizards” sequel.
Disney Branded Television revealed to CBS News that the pilot’s executive producers will include Selena Gomez and David Henrie, who portrayed Alex and Justin in the 2007 original series.
Henrie will frequently appear as Justin, while Gomez is scheduled to make a special appearance in the pilot. Alkaio Thiele, Mimi Gianopulos, Janice LeAnn Brown, and other recent Waverly Place entrants will also be part of the cast.
According to the press announcement, the magical follow-up tells the tale of Justin, who decides to live a normal life with his family and quit his work at WizTech. However, one day, a formidable young wizard knocks on his door, asking to be trained. “Justin must embrace his past to ensure the future of the Wizard World.”
The writers of “That’s So Raven” remake, Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, also wrote the pilot episode.
Gomez shared a flashback picture of herself and Henrie on the “Wizards of Waverly Place” set on her Instagram story, writing, “We’re back.” Along with a copy of Deadline’s report, she also shared a photo of what appears to be the “Wizards” pilot script with the phrase, “Home again,” expressing her excitement.
Henrie and Disney Channel also dropped hints about the surprise by sharing the front cover of the pilot screenplay on Instagram with a wand next to it.
Henrie captioned his image, saying, “The Russos are excited to become a part of your family, but we’ve grown.” “2024, the year magic comes back.”
