The third generation of midsize pickups is represented by the 2024 Chevy Colorado, which also marks the introduction of several new features and enhancements over the completely redesigned 2023 model year. One of these is a brand-new Sports Bar Package, about which GM Authority is now providing all the information right here.
Available for the 2024 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 trim levels, the new Sports Bar Package is identified by the RPO code PCK. WT and LT trims are not eligible for the bundle.
The package is available as an LPO-level option, meaning that the dealer installs it rather than the factory when the car is first made. The following content is part of the Sports Bar Package (applicable RPO codes are mentioned in parenthesis):
- Bed-mounted sport bar (SBY), 40-inch off-road roof light bar (S3X), accessory switch kit (VZJ) and power distribution box (VBP)
- The amount is fixed at $3,295.
A redesigned engine lineup is one of the many improvements and modifications that the 2024 Chevy Colorado ushers in over the initial 2023 model year. The mid-range turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B Turbo Plus gasoline engine (310 horsepower, 391 pound-feet of torque) is no longer offered. The Turbo 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine (237 horsepower, 260 pound-feet of torque) and the TurboMax 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine (310 horsepower, 430 pound-feet of torque) are the only two engine options available for the 2024 model year.
The second-generation GM eight-speed automatic gearbox is compatible with all engine variants.
Additional updates for the 2024 model year include the larger 11-inch Driver Information Centre (RPO code URF) replacing the eight-inch gauge cluster (RPO code URO), which was the first to be reported by GM Authority. The larger driver information centre is now included as standard across the range. The new ZR2 Bison Edition (RPO code ULV), which adds a plethora of accessories from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), the off-road experts, is also available for the 2024 model year.
