For the second year of sales, the Toyota GR Corolla arrives on the market with some minor yet significant upgrades. Product planners developed a new Premium trim to sit between the base-level Core and the currently-top-tier Circuit Edition trims after 200 units of the sporty, flagship Morizo trim were distributed to customers. The Performance Package includes extras for the GR Corolla Premium, including red brake callipers, front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials, front and rear parking sensors, and suede-trimmed seats with the GR emblem.A wireless phone charger, JBL audio, and heated front seats and steering wheel are further standard features. This trim is available in the special exterior colour Heavy Metal for $425, Ice Cap, which is free, and Supersonic Red, which is also $425.
To distinguish itself from the other models in the lineup, the Circuit Edition adopts a black rocker panel garnish that extends to the stamped GR Four logo.
The turbocharged 1.65-liter three-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque is unchanged. The steering gear and rear suspension received extra mounting bolts as a result of other engine modifications, which increased structural stiffness. New aluminium sheeting behind the bumpers modifies wind flow over the wheels next to the engine compartment.
The following prices are applicable to the new lineup, including the $1,095 destination fee and the variations from 2023:
Core: $37,195 ($200)
$41,015 in premiums (New)
Edition for the Circuit: $45,835 ($1,840)
The new forged aluminium BBS wheels that the Circuit Edition inherits from the long-gone Morizo Edition contribute to some of the positive growth for the model. This trim is available in Ice Cap white or Blue Flame paint, both of which have interior stitching that matches the outside colour.
Toyota Safety Sense, a set of driver assistance features that includes technology like adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, pre-collision with pedestrian recognition, and automatic high lights, is a standard feature on every GR Corolla. Every purchase also includes a complimentary one-day high-performance driving experience and a year’s membership to the National Auto Sport Association.
Toyota claims that later this year, performance shocks and lowering springs for the GR Corolla will be introduced by Gazoo Racing.
