The fourth-generation BMW X3 SUV has been revealed, revealing a new platform, cutting-edge technologies, and a stylish new look.
A new naming scheme for the brand is also introduced with the newest model, designated G45.
The number position has been changed to 30 xDrive and the ‘i’ from xDrive30i has been eliminated.
Effective now, only BMW electric vehicle (EV) models will use the “i” suffix.
Design and dimensions
The current generation BMW X1’s design characteristics are incorporated into the slightly broader and longer new X3, which replaces the old model.
The big kidney grille is similar to those on newer vehicles such as the 7 Series and XM flagship SUV. It is lighted on the top M50 xDrive and optional on the base 30 xDrive.
On certain variations, the grille slats are angled, however on the upper M50 trim, they are arranged horizontally.
Interior and technology
BMW’s curved display with iDrive 9 infotainment system, first seen on the current X1, is featured inside the forthcoming X3.
Additionally, it features a flat-bottom steering wheel, a BMW woven fabric instrument panel, and new heated sport seats, all of which are available for MY2025 versions.
The SUV comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, but 20- and 21-inch versions are also an option.
Power and performance
The powertrain options available for the new X3 are varied.
The 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and mild hybrid setup of the 20 xDrive provide 208 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque. In 7.8 seconds, it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h.
A 2.0-liter diesel engine with a mild hybrid configuration powers the 20d xDrive, producing a maximum torque of 400Nm and 197 horsepower.
With the same 48V mild hybrid arrangement, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 255 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque powers the 30 xDrive.
