BMW M5 2025 Teaser Reveals An illuminated Grille

BMW revealed on social media on Wednesday that a new M5 would soon make its public debut.

BMW released a teaser image along with the confirmation, which shows only the car’s illuminated grille. It is anticipated that the premiere will happen at the end of the month.

Though it’s unclear if they will be unveiled simultaneously, sedan and waggon body types are both planned. It is certain that, in contrast to the M3, which is only available as a sedan, both body types will be available in the United States.

Both the M5 sedan and M5 Touring waggon prototypes have been sighted, and BMW has stated that testing is almost over. This implies that the new M5 should go on sale in the United States in 2025 and that sales will probably begin this year.

Based on the revised 5-Series that debuted for the 2024 model year, the new M5 is anticipated to be the only 5-Series variation with a V-8 engine. But there will be other power sources besides the V-8. An electric motor integrated with the transmission—in this example, an 8-speed automatic—is anticipated to be linked with it.

With the identical configuration, the BMW XM can achieve 644 horsepower and the more aggressive XM Label Red can achieve 738 horsepower, both of which would be an improvement above the M5. With CS trim, the departing M5’s maximum horsepower is 627. It should also be feasible to get a modest electric driving range with the plug-in hybrid arrangement.

Although there will be a noticeable weight penalty due to the hybrid technology, performance should still be better than the previous M5. In CS configuration, that vehicle can reach 60 mph from rest in 2.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 190 mph.
