The Rumion, a badge-engineered Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, now has a new mid-level automatic variant available from Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM). Since the MPV’s first release in August 2023, the manufacturer has added a new model with an automated gearbox. The cost of this new variation, known as G AT, is Rs. 13 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Toyota Rumion G AT costs approximately Rs. 1.40 lakh, which is pricier than the G MT, the manual variant. If they’re interested in purchasing this new version, they can reserve it through the dealerships or the corporate website for an initial Rs. 11,000 refundable token payment.
Three versions of the Rumion are available from Toyota: S, G, and V. Previously, the top-spec V and entry-level S trims were the only ones with the six-speed automatic gearbox. The option for an automatic gearbox is now available across the lineup with the introduction of this new G AT model.
The same 1.5L four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces roughly 137 Nm of peak torque and 103 Bhp of peak power, powers the Rumion G AT. A six-speed torque converter automatic or a five-speed manual gearbox are available to match this engine. Like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota also provides a CNG powertrain option for the Rumion. This identical engine, however, only generates 88 Bhp and 121.5 Nm in the CNG variant.
In terms of technology, the G AT variant and the G MT variation are identical. The seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, keyless entry with push button start, linked car technology, steering wheel-mounted controls, and dual-tone alloy wheels are just a few of the important features available on this mid-spec model.
Numerous safety features are also included with the car, such as a rear parking camera, hill hold assist, electronic stability control (ESC), ABS with EBD, four airbags, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

The base S variation of the 2024 Toyota Rumion costs Rs. 10.44 lakh, while the top-tier V AT model costs Rs. 13.73 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). Bookings for the CNG model were briefly stopped last year due to high demand, but they have since resumed.
The Maruti Suzuki XL6, the Kia Carens, and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga—the car’s own donor vehicle—compete with the Toyota Rumion in the Indian market. Under the Maruti-Toyota alliance, the Rumion is not the first vehicle to be introduced.
The Toyota Taisor, a badge-engineered counterpart of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx compact SUV coupe, was also just released by Toyota. The Urband Cruiser Hyryder (Grand Vitara), Glanza (Baleno), and the Urban Cruiser (now discontinued, Vitara Brezza) are further automobiles that bear the Toyota mark.
