BYD’s most recent product has been made public by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology through the “Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products” (Batch 380). A new plug-in hybrid vehicle called the Seal 06 is introduced by BYD with the previously mentioned Qin L. The Seal 06 is positioned as a car beneath the current Seal EV and Seal DM-i models. Its notably shorter body suggests that it is positioned lower in BYD’s product range.
Compared to the current Seal EV and Seal DM-i versions, the Seal 06 is shorter.
The plug-in hybrid car known as the Seal 06 measures 4830 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, 1495 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2790 mm. By contrasting these numbers with the previously published Qin L (4830/1900/1495mm, wheelbase 2790mm), it is possible to infer a “sister model” link between the two models, akin to the one that exists between BYD’s Qin PLUS and Destroyer 05.
BYD’s dedication to “marine aesthetics” in design is evident in the Seal 06, which features svelte and gentle lines. The vehicle’s front grille, which has the appearance of a large, smiling mouth, gives it a distinctive look. The addition of petal-style wheels enhances the vehicle’s overall appearance, and customers may customise their driving experience by choosing between a compact, panoramic, or sunroof.
With a 1498ml engine producing 74kW of power under the hood, the Seal 06 can reach a top speed of 180 km/h. With unique outward and interior design aspects, this car is expected to be a component of BYD’s fifth-generation DM-i hybrid system, sharing its main technology with the Qin L.
As hybrid technology gains traction among manufacturers, BYD’s Seal 06 emerges as a significant player, appealing to buyers seeking a more eco-friendly but adaptable driving experience.
