Beginning in early 2019, the revised 2024 Lexus GX, which was unveiled in June, will be available for purchase at a starting price of $64,250, the company said on Wednesday.
This amount, which comes with a $1,350 destination fee, is for the base GX 550 Premium model.
There will be five more grades available: the GX 550 Premium+ and GX 550 Overtrail, which have starting prices of $69,250, the GX 550 Luxury and GX 550 Overtrail+, which have starting prices of $77,250, and the elegant GX 550 Luxury+, which has a starting price of $81,250. Destination is included in all figures.
Next spring, sales of the corresponding 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser are scheduled to begin. Although the Toyota’s starting price hasn’t been disclosed, authorities have alluded to it being in the mid-$50,000 area.
Every 2024 GX SUV will have a 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine that produces 349 horsepower. The engine will be mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox, a 2-speed transfer case, and a Torsen limited-slip centre differential, along with a four-wheel-drive setup that operates continuously. A hybrid powertrain will be accessible at a later time, according to confirmation from Lexus.
Many luxury features, such as heated and cooled front seats, a leather steering wheel, a 10-speaker audio system (a 21-speaker Mark Levinson system is available), a wireless smartphone charger, LED headlights, and 20-inch wheels are standard on the entry-level GX 550 Premium grade. Standard features include a 14.0-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and seating for seven people. There will be a head-up display accessible.
Off-road enthusiasts that take their off-roading seriously should choose the GX 550 Overtrail+. It is the most capable grade of the new GX and will ship with an aluminium skid plate, 33-inch Toyo Open Country All-Terrain tyres, and 18-inch wheels as standard equipment.
Toyota manufactures the GX at its Tahara, Japan, facility.
