The booming luxury MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) market in China is indicative of both the country’s strong economic growth and rising citizen wealth. Previously seen of as only useful family cars, luxury MPVs are increasingly becoming prestige and wealth markers, especially in the People’s Republic of China. Since the introduction of models such as the Toyota Alphard, many automakers have launched their own luxury MPVs, contributing to this change in public opinion. In this dynamic market, Voyah Dreamer—produced by Voyah, Dongfeng’s luxury division—stands out.
When reaching inside the trunk, the vehicle can lower its rear axle.
The Dreamer’s roomy interior and distinctive 2+2+3 seating configuration completely rethink what a luxurious minivan may be. Wheelsboy’s automotive experts recently had the opportunity to examine one of the Dreamer’s premium models, and their findings were very encouraging. The Dreamer stands out from its rivals, like the Denza D9 and Trumpchi M8, because to its more muted front design. It has an air suspension system that deftly lowers the rear axle to provide access to the trunk, and it rides on 20-inch wheels with pride.
The Dreamer’s interior is just as amazing. Its three-screen digital dashboard provides a distinct viewing experience for infotainment, passenger enjoyment, and instruments. The minimalist design of the cabin emphasises premium, soft-touch materials for the dashboard and door panels, which adds to the overall opulent feeling.
But a minivan’s real value is found in what it offers its occupants, particularly in the second and third seats. In this area, the Dreamer shines since the middle seats have a great deal of flexibility, as well as heating, cooling, and massaging features. All passengers will find the third row especially comfortable, with plenty of headroom and legroom and dedicated USB charging connections for each.
With its plug-in hybrid system that combines two electric motors and a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, the Dreamer delivers impressive performance. With a remarkable 560 horsepower and 621 pound-feet of torque, this configuration enables a 5.9-second acceleration from 0 to 62 mph.
By the end of the year, Voyah intends to launch the Dreamer in a few European markets. The base model will cost approximately $46,500 in China, while the top-end model will cost $64,300. The Dreamer is a notable competitor in the worldwide luxury MPV market thanks to its unique look, performance, and luxury features, yet there is currently no word on when it will be released in the United States.
