Google’s I/O event is under two days away, and a new CNBC report could have quite recently uncovered some of the major AI-focused updates to be declared at the show.
A significant component will be a brand-new large language model (LLM), PaLM 2, which CNBC describes as Google’s “most recent and advanced” “general-use” LLM. According to CNBC, the LLM appears to have gone through “a broad range of coding and math tests as well as creative writing tests and analysis.” In April 2022, months before the recent AI boom that was fueled by applications like ChatGPT, the first PaLM was announced.)
CNBC says that Google will also talk about “generative experiences” for search and Bard, its AI-powered chatbot that it started as an experiment in March. One of these “generative experiences” includes making Bard available in Korean and Japanese. This moment, Bard is just available in the US and the UK.
According to CNBC, Google will also reveal additional AI tools focused on workspaces, such as “discussing template generation in Sheets and image generation in its Slides and Meet products.” The company announced AI features for Gmail and Docs in March, but they were only made available to “trusted testers” at first. As a result, we will have to wait and see whether or not these new features will be made available to a wider audience.
Google didn’t promptly answer to a solicitation for input. However, it’s not excessively shocking that the organization could shake things up at Google I/O. With the ascent of OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s own forceful computer based intelligence endeavors, Google has as of late put man-made intelligence up front with nearly all that it does and, surprisingly, made enormous authoritative movements planned to additional push forward its artificial intelligence work.
But I/O won’t just be about AI. The Pixel Fold has already been revealed, and the company has promised to provide additional information about it at the event. A now-taken out Amazon posting uncovered a record of insights concerning the Pixel Tablet, persuading me to think it’ll be at the show. Additionally, we have seen Pixel 7A leaks for several weeks, including a hands-on in March.
On Wednesday, May 10 at 1 p.m. ET, the fun begins at I/O, which promises to be a packed show.
