In the next months, Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce three new vehicles, one of which will be an all-electric SUV called the eVX, which will be the company’s first entry into the EV market.
As the leading manufacturer in the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has consistently introduced new models in a proactive manner. Three new cars are scheduled to make their national debut in the upcoming months, so the pattern will continue. Let’s now examine the specifications of the three new Maruti Suzuki vehicles that will go on sale in India throughout the next several months.
1. Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG
The newest model from Maruti Suzuki, the new-generation Swift, is anticipated to go on sale in the second half of 2024 and will shortly acquire a CNG version. The fourth generation Swift is the first vehicle in the lineup to feature the new powertrain, which is a 1.2 litre 3-cylinder Z12E naturally aspirated petrol engine. In a similar vein, the hatchback will be the first model to use the new engine’s CNG fuel option.
Although the power output will be reduced, the CNG fuel alternative is anticipated to have a fuel economy of more than 32 km/kg. The CNG-powered Swift is expected to cost between Rs. 90,000 and 95,000 more than the standard petrol-only variant.
2. New-Gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire
Maruti Suzuki will make its sedan counterpart, the Dzire, debut in the Indian market after the release of the new-generation Swift. The small sedan, which is anticipated to go on sale in July 2024, will have longer length and a larger boot than the new Swift while also sharing many of the same features and underpinnings. Its hatchback counterpart’s front profile will probably seem similar, while the rear end will probably have a fresh design.
The new-generation Dzire will be powered by a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder Z12E petrol engine that produces 111.7 Nm of peak torque and 80.46 horsepower. The most recent spy photos showed off the sunroof on Maruti’s next compact sedan, which will make it the first vehicle in its class. The package will also include features like cruise control, automatic climate control, keyless entry, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and more.
3. Maruti Suzuki eVX Electric SUV
By the end of 2024, Maruti Suzuki will introduce the eVX, a foray into the electric vehicle sector, to the Indian market. The all-electric SUV, which has been spotted testing across the nation several times, will ride on a recently developed all-electric skateboard platform that will also be utilised for a number of planned Maruti-Toyota electric vehicles. The production-spec vehicle’s length and wheelbase will be 4.3 metres and 2700mm, respectively.
The business has disclosed that there will be two battery pack options for the EV: a 48 kWh unit that can reportedly travel 400 kilometres on a single charge, and a larger 60 kWh battery that can travel 550 km. In the Indian market, the Maruti Suzuki eVX will compete against vehicles such as the soon-to-be Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Nexon EV, and Mahindra XUV400 EV.
